Ewing Succeeds Fowler at Dewberry
After nearly three years with the firm, Ronald Ewing takes
over for veteran John Fowler as chief executive officer of
Dewberry in Fairfax, Va.
The torch has been passed at Dewberry
of Fairfax, Va., where Ronald L. Ewing
was recently named chief executive officer. Ewing replaces
John Fowler, who has enjoyed
a career in infrastructure engineering that has spanned more
than 40 years. Fowler will continue to serve on the board
of directors and as president of PSA-Dewberry. Ewing joined
Dewberry in 2002 and has been instrumental in directing the
firm's operating units in infrastructure, municipal, and environmental
engineering; building design; federal programs; and mapping
and geodigital services. He was previously a regional manager
at URS Corp.

HITT Contracting of Fairfax,
Va., recently announced several promotions. John
M. Britt was named executive vice president. Britt
will oversee operations in HITT's government market sector
and will also play a major role in defining the company's
corporate culture and setting its agenda in the industry.
Britt joined HITT in 1996. Clark H.
deFranceaux was promoted to senior vice president of
HITT's Corporate Interiors department. He joined HITT in 1994
and has more than 18 years experience managing construction
projects. James E. Landefeld
was named vice president of HITT's Major Projects division.
He joined the company in 1990 and has more than 28 years of
experience managing construction projects. William
R. Marcotte was promoted to vice president of preconstruction.
He joined HITT in 2000 and has more than 22 years experience
in the commercial construction industry.
Parsons Brinckerhoff of Washington,
D.C., recently named Emil H. Frankel
as a principal consultant with PB Consult, the management
and strategic consulting unit of the PB organization. Frankel
will also be a senior vice president. Frankel is a former
assistant secretary for transportation policy at the U.S.
Department of Transportation. He was appointed to that position
by President George W. Bush in 2002 and played a key role
in the coordination and development of the administration's
proposal to reauthorize the Federal highway, transit and safety
programs.
Cannon Design of Arlington,
Va., recently promoted Jose M. Silva,
AIA, to principal. Silva has served as a design executive
supporting Cannon's Mid-Atlantic regional operations since
2000. He has more than 20 years experience in project management
and design experience throughout the United States.
Manekin Construction of Columbia,
Md., recently announced two new hires. Wayne
Maddox was hired as superintendent and oversees the
firm's Cambrex project, as well as other construction projects
in Frederick, Md. He was previously a field superintendent
for Gosnell Development in Vienna, Va., and has more than
38 years of construction and supervisory experience. Tim
McCormick was hired as a project manager. McCormick
manages the firm's Harford County Public Schools project in
Bel Air, Md., the Christian Church of Christ project in Severn,
Md., and the Commons Corporate Center project in Hanover,
Md. He has more than 14 years of experience and most recently
served as senior project manager with Atlantic Builders Group
in Baltimore.
Cohen, Seglias, Pallas, Greenhall
& Furman of Philadelphia recently named Jason
A. Copley resident partner of the firm's new office
in Harrisburg, Pa. This is the firm's third office in Pennsylvania.
In addition to the firm's Philadelphia and Harrisburg locations,
it has an office in Pittsburgh.
