Shockey, R.W. Murray Announce New Leadership
Jerry Ennis leaves Boldt Construction to take the helm at Howard Shockey & Sons, while Stephen Daves and Charles Loving official transition to top posts at R.W. Murray Co.
Howard Shockey & Sons of Winchester, Va., hired Jerry Ennis as president. Ennis has 31 years of experience in construction supervision and management. He was most recently with Boldt Construction, where he served as president of its southern operations division. Ennis is perhaps best known for his role in stabilizing the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building after it was bombed in 1995.

R.W. Murray Co. of Manassas, Va., announced changes to its top management. Stephen Daves, a 20-year veteran of the firm, has been named president and Charles Loving, who joined the firm 14-years ago, will assume the role of chief executive officer. Bill Fairchild, former president, will remain as chairman to concentrate on long-term strategic growth. The move was made as part of a succession plan forged by Fairchild a decade ago. Daves will be responsible for the overall management of the firm including strategic planning, operations, and the development and implementation of strategies to ensure efficiency, quality, exceptional service, and cost-effective management of resources. Loving will provide the vision necessary for long term growth and profitability while also guiding the overall operations of the firm.
Leo A Daly of Washington, D.C., promoted Alan J. Feltoon to vice president and managing principal. Feltoon will be responsible for leading and increasing business opportunities, and the overall performance of the Washington, D.C. office. He also will have oversight over all professional services, including project delivery, technical processes, and resource utilization. In other personnel moves, the firm appointed Arthur S. Debowy as principal and director of terminal planning and design.
Skanska USA Building of Rockville, Md., recently announced two personnel moves in it metropolitan Washington, D.C. office. Brennan McReynolds was promoted to director of interiors & special projects for its metropolitan Washington, D.C. office. McReynolds previously served as the Washington office’s director of business development. Skanska hired Alissa Roberts as manager of business development. Roberts was previously a project manager for Fulcrum Construction in Atlanta.
Turner Construction of Arlington, Va., recently announced two promotions. Jeff Burnham is vice president and general manager of the Special Projects/Interiors Division. Kelly Chi is preconstruction manager of the Special Projects/Interiors Division.
HITT Contracting of Fairfax, Va., recently announced several personnel moves. Jeremy Bardin was named executive vice president. He will maintain his role as director of HITT Base Building. Michael (Mitch) Filipowicz was promoted to vice president of its Government Division. Jennifer Herring was hired as business development manager in its Baltimore office. David Sommer was promoted to senior project manager of HITT Base Building. Senior superintendents Luke Kane, Kenneth Whetzel, R.J. Trottier and David Underwood were promoted to vice president. This is the first time in HITT’s history that senior superintendents have been promoted to field executive status.
Gilbane Building Co. recently announced several personnel changes. Mark A. Luria was named vice president. He serves as district operations manager for the Washington, DC/Northern Virginia office. Matthew N. Weirich was named vice president. He serves as regional support operations manager for the Mid-Atlantic office. Ronda Bailey was named vice president. Bailey serves as regional manager of business development in Gilbane’s Delaware Valley region.
FXFOWLE Architects hired George W. Hellmuth as director of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Hellmuth previously held several key positions at HOK, establishing the firm’s Washington D.C. office in 1982.
Fentress Architects announced several personnel moves at its Washington, D.C. office. New hires include Patricia Andrasik, interior designer/architectural designer; David Hofmann, architect; Mark McQuistion, architect; Stacey Paul, interior designer; and Oliver Wischmeyer, intern architect. Martha Geuss was promoted to associate.
The Reynolds of Harrisburg, Pa., family of construction services companies announced several key promotions at its top ranks. The company named David S. Angle chief operating officer; Jeffrey P. Merritt president of Reynolds Construction Management, and Anthony P. Worrall president of Reynolds Restoration Services.
Hubert Construction of Gaithersburg, Md. recently announced two personnel moves. Scott Hallam is executive vice president and partner. He previously served as vice president of construction. Pete Sutcliffe was hired as senior project manager in the company’s Commercial Interiors Group.
HKS hired Jeffrey E. Hudick as quality control manager for the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
Bowman Consulting of Annapolis, Md., hired Ron Anderson as director of surveys to lead its Annapolis operations.
